I hear a lot about dog vitamins and supplements, but are they really necessary?

Vitamins and Supplements
Tiff asked:

If I feed my dog good food (Nature’s Variety naturesvariety.com) are vitamins and supplements necessary or even beneficial?

hmmm… this is a great question. I would say that a little nupro complete or suppliment with some fresh foods like the occasional pureed carrots and beets or bananas and plain yogurt should do the trick. The problem is that sometimes the nutrients are slightly lessened in their potentcy when baked or processed. You are doing well to feed such a high quality food. We feed raw, usually the Nature’s varity frozen raw with the occasional raw marrow bone. I still put a little Nupro on it every other day just for good measure. Good luck.
