Effectively Taking Azithromycin For Infections

Azithromycin, a macrolide type antibiotic, is useful against susceptible bacterium that causes otitis media (infection of the middle ear), tonsillitis, laryngitis, bronchitis, pneumonia, and sinusitis. It also is successful against numerous sexually transmitted infectious diseases such as nongonococcal urethritis and cervicitis. The growth of the bacteria is stopped when the drug is used consistently per the doctor’s orders. Viral infections are not helped with Azithromycin, so the common cold or flu cannot be helped with this drug. The medicine is made by Azithromycin manufacturers in three types – oral tablet, oral liquid and an intravenous solution. The first dose may be doubled, following the order from the doctor, and then the regular schedule for dosing will follow.
